Everyday Adventures: Get Outside With Us This October

Out ’n’ About began with a father who wanted to get outside with his newborn daughter and couldn’t find a buggy that would take them there. So we made one. Twenty-five years later, getting families outside is still what we care about most. This October, we’d love you to join us in getting out there and finding your own Everyday Adventures.

Why we believe in Everyday Adventures

Big days out are brilliant. Think a week by the sea, or a whole day in the hills with a picnic in the basket. But they don't come round very often. Most of your time together as a family happens on ordinary days, on the walk to nursery, on the trip to the shops, or in the half hour before tea. That’s why we think every day has an adventure in it.

That's why we think every day has an adventure in it. It doesn't need sunshine, a plan or a free afternoon. A drizzly Tuesday counts. So does a cold, muddy morning, or a busy day when you've only got 10 minutes. All it really needs is a bit of fresh air.

And those short trips outside do more than you might think. In Natural England's latest People and Nature Survey, published in September 2026, 89% of adults who had recently visited green spaces said time outdoors was good for their physical health. The same share said it was good for their mental health. Over half of those visits lasted an hour or less, so the walk to nursery and the loop round the park really do count.

What do Everyday Adventures look like?

Everyday adventures start somewhere ordinary. It might be the nursery pick-up, a quick trip to the shops or 20 minutes before tea. You head out for one thing, then something catches your little one's eye. You stop, you look, you wander a bit further than you planned, and that ordinary walk becomes the best bit of the day.

Maybe it's a snail that needs rescuing, a puddle they simply can't walk past or the best leaf in the whole park. They're the little things you'd have missed if you'd stayed in, and little adventures count too.

Why the Nipper V6 is made for Everyday Adventures

Every Nipper since 2001 has been built around that first problem: a pushchair that can handle rough ground, so families can get outside together. More than 300,000 families later, our Nipper V6 range is the most recent version of that idea. Here are four reasons it's made for getting out there.

A Nipper V6 goes where other prams can’t.

Most pushchairs are designed for smooth ground, yet the best walks rarely stay there for long. With 12-inch air-filled tyres, built-in rear suspension and a swivel-lock front wheel that makes it easy to steer, the Nipper V6 keeps going when the tarmac turns to gravel, grass or woodland. So, the adventure doesn't have to stop where the pavement does.

They sleep. You stay out longer.

You'll know the moment. The walk starts with a restless baby and, three streets later, they've drifted off. In a V6, the seat reclines with one hand, all the way down to lie flat, so even the littlest ones can stretch out comfortably.

For a newborn, pair a single Nipper V6 with the Nipper Switch carrycot, so they can sleep snug and flat for as long as they need. When they're a bit bigger, it turns into a parent-facing seat. Want something lighter? The Nipper Pod works on both the single and Double V6. It clips straight on and tucks them in on a soft, lie-flat base that keeps them cosy over the bumps. So, the nap doesn't have to end the outing. That means more time at the park for big brother or sister, or a hot coffee and a proper catch-up with a friend.

Every Nipper Built to last.

Everyday adventures can get messy, and a Nipper is made to be used, muddied, cleaned, repaired and taken out again. It's built to go the distance, with a sturdy frame that keeps going through wet autumns, cold winters and years of nursery runs. And when something does wear, spare parts, our rebuild service, and Pre-Loved resale mean plenty of Nippers go on to a second child, a friend, or a whole new family. Use it, love it and pass it on.

Two seats. Still fits through the door.

Getting two little ones outside can feel like an expedition before you’ve even left the hallway. The Nipper Double V6 seats them side by side, yet it’s just 71cm wide, so it rolls through standard doorways without taking anything apart. From the front door, into the café, through a nursery gate, then off down the muddy track. Because getting two kids outside shouldn’t make everyday life harder.

How can you join in with Everyday Adventures this October?

Joining in is simple. Pick a trip you’re making anyway this week, like the nursery run or the walk to the shops and take it a little further. Need a nudge? Try one of these:

  • Long way home: turn the school or nursery run into a little detour.
  • 10-minute adventures: you don’t need a whole day, so 10 minutes before tea still counts.
  • Whatever the weather: rain, wind, cold or mud, go anyway.
  • Little things worth stopping for: snails, sticks, ducks and the perfect leaf.
  • Nap adventures: keep walking while they sleep and see where you end up.

Then show us what you found. Tag @outnabout_official on Instagram, use #EverydayAdventures and tell us where you went. We’ll be sharing our favourites, plus more ideas, here on the blog throughout October.
