Who is the Nipper Compact buggy for?
The Nipper Compact buggy is designed for active families who need one pushchair for everyday life, travel and smaller spaces.
Its lightweight frame and compact fold suit city streets, public transport, small car boots and holidays. As it is suitable from birth, it can also serve as your main buggy rather than an additional travel pushchair.
Many compact buggies prioritise portability but rely on small wheels designed mainly for smooth surfaces. The Nipper Compact combines larger Magic Wheels and built-in suspension with travel-friendly dimensions for greater everyday capability.
Packed into the included travel backpack, it measures 55 × 35 × 25cm, within IATA’s general cabin baggage guidance of 56 × 45 × 25cm. Airline allowances vary, so always check before travelling.
It's best suited to cities, towns, parks and lighter trails. For regular farm tracks, rougher terrain or more intensive running, the Nipper V6 or Nipper V6 Plus remains the better choice.
How small does the Nipper Compact buggy fold?
The Nipper Compact folds with one hand and stands independently once folded. With the wheels attached, it measures 52 × 36 × 77cm, making it easier to store in hallways or tighter spaces at home, as well as in small city car boots, like a MINI Cooper or Fiat 500.

Once the buggy has been collapsed down, the same pull strap used for folding doubles as a shoulder strap. Making it quicker to carry up flights of stairs, through stations or into storage.

For longer journeys, the buggy packs into the included travel backpack, making it easier to carry through airports or on transport when not in use for a longer period. If the wheels are dirty, you can remove them using the quick-release fittings and place them inside the also included wheel covers.

As a small folding pushchair, it takes up less room when stored, without relying on the tiny wheels commonly found on many travel buggies.
What are Magic Wheels?
Magic Wheels are our puncture-proof tyres made from cushioned ETPU (Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane) foam, an EVA alternative, giving the Nipper Compact a smoother ride without the maintenance of air-filled tyres. There are no valves to check, no pump to carry and no risk of a puncture interrupting your journey.
This buggy has two 14-inch Magic Wheels at the rear and one 12-inch Magic Wheel at the front. Having larger wheels at the rear helps the buggy roll more easily over cobbles, gravel, grass and uneven ground.

The smaller front wheel provides a tighter turning circle, while the three-wheel design balances its stability, allowing for greater manoeuvrability. It swivels for easy one-handed steering through shop doorways and busy city spaces, and locks in place where extra control is needed.
All three wheels are quick-release, making the Nipper Compact buggy easier to pack and store. The front wheel uses a bicycle-style quick-release fitting, while each rear wheel can be removed using the push button in its centre.
Built-in suspension works alongside the wheels to soften bumps and improve comfort. Together, these features give the Nipper Compact greater everyday capability than many travel buggies with smaller, harder wheels.
Can the Nipper Compact be used from birth?
Designed as a compact pushchair from birth, the Nipper Compact features our easy-recline seat that adjusts smoothly from upright into a lie-flat position. We’ve also tested the weight limit to 30kg, above the standard maximum child weight of 22kg.
Our Newborn Support can be added to the lie-flat seat for additional support during the newborn stage. Parents who prefer a parent-facing setup can choose the Nipper Pod, which clips directly onto the buggy without the need for adaptors.
If you need a more convenient travel-system option for shorter journeys, a compatible infant car seat can also be attached using the Universal Travel System Adapter.
As a compact pushchair suitable from birth, the Nipper Compact can serve as both an everyday and travel buggy. This could remove the need to buy and store a separate lightweight pushchair later.
For families with an older sibling, the Front Rider provides somewhere to sit when little legs need a rest. Your child sits on the footplate, rests their feet on the foot pegs, and holds onto the handlebar with both hands.
Can you run with the Nipper Compact?
Our Nipper Compact buggy is certified for running under BS EN1888-3:2023. We recommend running with it only once your child is at least 9 months old.
A handlebar brake gives you greater control, while our traditional three-wheel design and larger Magic Wheels provide stability for park runs, paved paths and regular fitness sessions.
Before setting off, turn the front wheel lock vertically and allow the wheel to swivel until it locks into its fixed running position. The seat should also be adjusted to its most upright position, with the wrist strap used throughout your run.
This gives active parents one compact pushchair for everyday travel and regular running, without needing a separate jogging buggy.
However, for longer distances, races, or running across challenging terrain, we’d still recommend our Nipper V6 Plus. Its larger air-filled wheels and running-focused design are built for more intensive use.
