It’s Cosy Season! Autumn adventures with Out ‘n’ About - Emily Crowe

Why We Love Autumn in Cornwall

Living in Newquay, Cornwall, autumn is our favourite time of year. It’s when we finally get the beaches back to ourselves, no queues for coffee, no crowds, just peace and sea air.

Beach Days Never End

Early morning crisp walks with the sun rising over a low mist, the girls all toasty and snug as bugs in their Nipper! It feels like you’re the only ones in the world for an hour.

Beach play doesn’t stop when the season changes. Autumn storms wash up all sorts, perfect for a beach-combing adventure (and don’t forget a beach clean!). It’s a great way to teach your little ones about caring for the planet while having fun.

Then it’s back to building sandcastles, collecting treasures, and rock pooling, one of our favourite pastimes.

Woodland Wanders & Sensory Play

We love taking our Double Nipper into the woods or down to the lake, perfect for off-road exploring! The girls collect feathers, leaves, twigs, acorns, and pinecones for sensory play, crafts, and making the cutest little autumn crowns.

Pumpkin Patch Adventures

No autumn is complete without a pumpkin patch visit! You’ll be so thankful for your Out ‘n’ About when walking through those muddy, boggy fields with ease.

Take some adorable photos, toast marshmallows, and load your Nipper up with the quirkiest pumpkins you can find! Don’t forget to share your adventures on Instagram and tag @outnabout_official we love seeing your autumn snaps!

You’ll often find corn mazes near pumpkin patches too, they’re such fun to explore as a family.

Autumn Days with the National Trust

If anyone knows how to make autumn magical, it’s the National Trust. From woodland walks to scavenger hunts, they have something for everyone. And who can resist getting toasty by an open fire in a historic house? Those smells!

Go Out, Explore, and Have Fun!

Wherever this season takes you, beach, woods, or pumpkin patch, wrap up warm, bring your Nipper, and make the most of every moment together.
