Komoot Guide

Recording Your Walks on Komoot for Out ‘n’ About

  1. Download the Komoot app from your app store.
  2. Create an account on Komoot to set up your login and password.
  3. When you're out for your usual walk, tap the "Record" button. If it’s not already set, select "Hiking" and hit the green circle to start recording.
  4. After your walk, press "Finish Tour".
  5. Rename your walk with something descriptive, such as “Willington Buggy-Friendly Walk”.
  6. Tag Out ‘n’ About in the walk using the "Tag Participants" option. We’ll review and add your walk to our directory.
  7. Once saved, write a short description in the first comment (this comment will appear at the top). You can follow this template for guidance.
  8. When describing your walk, highlight family-friendly features and points of interest. Make sure to note any potential hazards, like busy roads or steep edges, so others can stay safe.
  9. Add pictures to give others a glimpse of what the walk has to offer!
