How to adjust your Nipper Trek

Adjusting the Nipper Trek should be done before placing your child in the carrier. Once set up, you should only need to make smaller changes to the harness and straps.

1. Establish the right fit (Adult)

Start with the carrier empty. Set the torso panel to suit your height, then position the padded hip belt across the top of your hip bones.

The shoulder straps should feel secure without pulling the hip belt upwards or putting too much pressure on your shoulders.

2. Adjust the child’s seat

Set the child’s seat height while the carrier is empty. A taller child will need a lower seat position, while a smaller child will sit higher.

You can also adjust the seat angle using the controls on either side of the carrier.

3. Secure your child

Place the carrier on stable, level ground before putting your child inside. Lower them into the seat, guide their legs through and secure the five-point harness.

Check that the harness is comfortably fitted and that your child is sitting securely before lifting the carrier.

4. Put the carrier on safely

Follow the lifting instructions in the Nipper Trek user manual when putting the loaded carrier onto your back. Having another adult help is recommended, especially as you get used to the carrier.

5. Make the final adjustments

Once the Trek is on your back, make any final changes to the shoulder, hip and chest straps. The carrier should feel secure and sit close to your body, with the padded hip belt resting firmly across your hips.

If two people share the Trek, remember to adjust the torso panel and straps whenever the wearer changes.
